A native of Hong Kong, Christine Leong has loved to paint since she was a child. Her earliest sketches were mostly
characters from Chinese comic books. Her formal art education did not take place till her high school years when she began
to sketch Greek sculptures. By then, she had already progressed to drawing Chinese beauties on her own where the folds of
her beauties' traditional flowing robes were rendered with such expertise and garnered praises from her art teachers at
school.
Ms Leong continued with her self-taught style till her early 30's when she started studying under Master
|
Li Woon Ping who is famous for his brush techniques. Under Li's training, Ms. Leong improved on her Chinese
watercolor techniques, producing soft, lyrical brush strokes that are much evident in her kois and floral.
She had exhibited both in Mainland China and Hong Kong. Her artwork graces the walls of her clients' homes and offices in
Canada, the United States, Australia, Hong Kong and Mainland China.
Since immigrating to the Camarillo area in late 2002, Ms Leong has been an active participant in the local art scene, her
work has already been juried in shows and art walks. She hopes her new western
|
environment will enhance her appreciation and interpretation of Chinese art.
